The Village

  Long ago there stood a village. It was a fairly new village; people gathered together from different places and came together to create it. Structures were built seemingly overnight, and the villagers were working together to learn how to live and provide for themselves. It wasn’t very big, but it was growing. Not too long after the village started to be built a dark force came after it and it’s people. The people grew fearful of one another. The fish were no longer biting in the river, the crops were dying and created a famine. Families started to leave one by one. Soon there was no one left to care for this village. The land grew wild again, and the buildings fell into disrepair. Soon there was no one left to care for this village. Eventually I happened upon this village. It is such a beautiful place, so much potential. I became the caretaker. I started to repair the buildings when I could. I cleared the weeds and planted seeds with the hope that in the future it will yield...

Loneliness, Humanity, and Beauty.

 No one ever thinks about the future and says with gusto, " I am going to be lonely when I grow up!" And yet, I think that a good portion of us are. There's never a good reason for it. It could be too much loss, too little love, too much arrogance, too little humility. There are millions of ways we could fill in those phrases. It's different for everyone. But, we are all lonely. The reason doesn't matter. It's one of a few things thing we would have in common. Loneliness.  Along with that, our humanity. We, as humans, are inherently flawed. That is what makes us beautiful. It's not that  we all have perfectly symmetrical shapes, and our skin tones are perfectly even. No, it's the freckles on our nose, the gold around the iris in my blue eyes, the way cheeks can get rosy with too much sun.
